OABA Participates in American Ag Retailers Association Washington, D.C. Fly‑In

Img 3060The Ohio AgriBusiness Association (OABA) was proud to join agricultural leaders from across the country at last week’s Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) Washington, D.C. Fly‑In. This annual event brings together ag retailers, agribusinesses, and industry partners for high‑level discussions with federal policymakers on the most pressing issues shaping modern agriculture.

OABA Chair Nick Franks, ARA Board Member Jeff Corraini, and Melinda Witten, OABA President & CEO, met with eight members of Ohio’s congressional delegation—including both U.S. Senators—to provide firsthand insight into how federal policies impact ag retailers, fertilizer suppliers, grain handlers, crop consultants, and the broader agricultural supply chain.
Key priorities discussed included:
  • Farm Bill progress and long‑term stability for producers and agribusinesses
  • Regulatory clarity on crop protection labeling and uniformity in biostimulant labeling
  • Trade certainty, including support for USMCA renewal and advancement of new trade agreements
Representing Ohio’s agribusiness community, Witten emphasized the importance of strong public‑private partnerships and practical, science‑based policy solutions that help keep Ohio agriculture competitive.
“These conversations are essential. Ohio’s agribusinesses feed into a national supply chain, and our work in D.C. ensures lawmakers understand what our members need to keep delivering for farmers and rural communities,” Witten said.
The fly‑in also provided valuable opportunities to collaborate with other state associations, national partners, and ARA leadership—strengthening a shared commitment to innovation, stewardship, and supporting America’s farm economy.

OABA appreciates the open dialogue with Ohio’s elected officials and thanks the Agricultural Retailers Association for hosting this impactful event. We remain committed to advocating for policies that strengthen the agricultural supply chain and support the long‑term success of our members.
