OSU Seeking NSPs for Participation in Nutrient Loss Prevention Program
A team of researchers at The Ohio State University are seeking nutrient service providers (NSPs) to participate in an interview gauging their interest in a program aimed at mitigating nutrient loss in the western Lake Erie Basin. This potential program, or Public-Private Partnership (PPP) would involve partnering NSPs with one or more public sector partners to identify fields with high soil test phosphorous that would benefit from phosphorous mitigation practices. The PPP would pay NSPs to help identify and recruit farmers to participate, while the funding for the practices and technical assistance would be provided by the public partner.
We would greatly appreciate your input as your perspective is crucial for us to understand how to design such a program to be appealing to NSPs and their clientele. While we are currently running a pilot version of this program with three NSPs, the lessons learned from these interviews could help inform future public private partnership designs at a much larger scale. We estimate the interview will take no more than 60 minutes of your time, and as a token of our appreciation we will email you a link to select a $100 gift card of your choosing at the completion of the interview. Any personal information shared with us will be kept confidential and all data will be anonymized.
If you are interested in participating, please contact the research team at farmersurvey@osu.edu, or by phone at (740) 652-6297.
