OABA Participates in ARA Virtual D.C. Fly-In
March 1-4, the Ohio AgriBusiness Association connected virtually with legislators during the Agricultural Retailers Association D.C. Fly-In.
President and CEO Chris Henney was joined by Jackie Seibert of LW Seibert Farms, LLC, Gary Weidenborner of CoBank, Blake Gates of Morral Companies, Danielle Nelson of ARA and Lauren Sturgeon Bailey of CoBank for the virtual visits. The group met with Ohio Congressmen Bob Gibbs and Troy Balderson, plus staff members for Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman, and Congressmen Joyce Beatty, Warren Davidson, Anthony Gonzalez, Bill Johnson, Bob Latta, David P. Joyce, Tim Ryan, Steve Stivers, Mike Turner, and Brad Wenstrup
During the visits, the group shared several key issues impacting Ohio agribusinesses. Among other topics, conversations focused on transportation infrastructure and regulation reform.
“It is important for OABA to share our members’ interests with our legislators and their staff in Congress,” said Henney. “Though we couldn’t travel to Washington this year, our virtual visits provided us opportunity to show our commitment to these vital issues and show a united front for Ohio agribusinesses.”
