President and CEO of Trupointe Cooperative, Inc., Larry Hammond, will retire August 31 after 37 years in the agricultural industry.
Hammond began his career with Trupointe predecessor, Auglaize Farmers, in 1992 as a one-county agricultural cooperative in Ohio. Under Hammond’s leadership, the cooperative has flourished to serve more than 4,200 members across Western Ohio and Eastern Indiana, from more than 24 locations and with over 400 employees. During his tenure, Hammond significantly increased the net worth of the company, from $3 million in 1992 to $113.4 million today.
While Hammond has experienced success in his career, he is quick to credit his cooperative membership and employees as the real source of the cooperative’s success.
“Our membership chooses to do business with us, creating the financial return to enable our business decisions. Our membership’s involvement has resulted in one of the most engaged and dynamic Board of Directors in our region; which in turn has created and supported the industry-leading concepts that have lead us to our success today,” says Hammond.
“Under Larry’s leadership our cooperative has successfully weathered challenges and prospered from his planning. We thank him for his leadership to Trupointe and wish him well,” says Trupointe Board Chairman, John Lowry.
With the support of its membership, Trupointe will merge with Sunrise Cooperative, beginning operations September 1. At that time, George Secor, president and CEO of Sunrise Cooperative, will succeed Hammond to act as president of the newly formed entity.

Larry has been an agent for change in the co-op system, and through his leadership and dedication has trained and educated future leaders. Good luck Larry in your retirement.
