Spotlight Header Gold Ofbf

Ohio Farm Bureau Federation has been serving the rural communities of Ohio for more than 100 years. As the organization embarks on its next century, it has reaffirmed its focus on helping farmers prosper and making communities stronger.

Among its priorities, Farm Bureau advocates for good government policy, develops opportunities for young farmers, provides student scholarships and grants, supports local food efforts, creates food literacy programs for children, hosts community building events and raises funds to assist in protecting the environment, water quality, farmland preservation and other similar efforts.

Ohio Farm Bureau is composed of 86 county Farm Bureaus, and each county has its own board of trustees and volunteers who lead local programs and events. There are 20 county offices and nearly 90,000 members statewide, with the state office located in downtown Columbus.

The organization offers several business solutions to its members, including insurance and financial services from Nationwide, the Ohio Farm Bureau Health Benefits Plan, Workers’ Compensation Group Rating Program, plus lobbying and legal services, educational programs and community development initiatives. The strategic partnerships department in particular works with key industry allies to further organizational goals. OFBF looks forward to the numerous ways it can work with agribusiness leaders to promote the shared interests of their sectors in the future.

From OFBF: “As we work to lower business taxes or reduce the regulatory burden on our industry, Farm Bureau can always rely on OABA as a strong partner. Whether supporting agriculture’s effort to improve water quality through the 4R Nutrient Stewardship program or OABA’s generous sponsorship of the ExploreAg program which introduces students to careers in agriculture, our strong partnership can help produce problem-solving solutions to move our industry forward.”

As a grassroots organization that continues to work with Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen communities, members make it all possible. For more information on how you can become an Ohio Farm Bureau member today, visit
