Agribusinesses continually compete with all industries to recruit and retain the best talent, but there is also a need to invest in those who are already passionate about agriculture. Emerging agribusiness leaders can build their skills through LAUNCH – Leaders Achieving Unexpected New Career Heights – to rise to the challenges and opportunities facing agribusinesses today and tomorrow.

Hosted by the Ohio AgriBusiness Association, in partnership with Shift-ology Communication, the LAUNCH program is geared to help Ohio agribusinesses Elevate People, Elevate Ideas and Elevate the Industry. The LAUNCH program consists of two sessions of educational programing, three days each, held in January and February 2020.

Emerging agribusiness leaders will experience a wide variety of hands-on topics and workshops geared toward agribusinesses, including:

  • Getting to We
  • Leading through Strategic Change
  • Creating a Safety First Culture
  • Getting the Most from our Financials
  • HR and Sales Principles
  • Interpersonal Insights
  • The Power of Goodwill
  • Multi-generational Teams That Work
  • Balancing Act: Striking a Work-Life Balance

LAUNCH also features a tour of the Ohio Statehouse, including a Legislative Panel; an Executive Panel with Q&A; and an Agribusiness Tour.

Participants will have the opportunity to complete a capstone project, a key component of LAUNCH where the participant selects a strategic project to implement at his or her place of business. Other features of the LAUNCH experience are networking opportunities, webinars and access to continued education through the AMP'T session held at the OABA Industry Conference.

To participate, individuals must be an employee of an Ohio AgriBusiness Association member company or organization. More information, including session dates and the program application, is available at bit.ly/LAUNCH2020.
