Proceeds benefit Ohio YMCA Youth & Goverment

See the House and Senate Republican and Democrat "families" battle it out in good fun, all benefitting Ohio YMCA Youth & Government students. OLA members serve on the fundraising committee and the emcee is our own Mike Carroll. The OLA is also a long-time sponsor of the event.
About the program:
Each spring, Ohio YMCA Youth & Government holds its State Assembly at the Ohio Statehouse. High school students from around the state take on the roles of the legislative, executive, and the judicial branches of government as legislators, a youth governor, a chief justice, lobbyists, and pages.
Students develop and advocate for or against legislation and see it through the legislative process. Students also draft oral arguments for presentation to the youth supreme court. YMCA Youth & Government allows students to learn practical lessons about democracy and responsible citizenship.
