Are you looking to obtain or renew your Commodity Tester Certificate? The deadline to renew your certificate is Sept. 30. OABA’s Grain Grading School on May 31 – approved by the Ohio Department of Agriculture – is structured to provide certification/recertification opportunities.

Individuals seeking certification will receive training in the procedures for grading corn, soybeans and wheat, as well as sampling and equipment, and then take an open-book exam consisting of 50 questions. New commodity testers must pass the written exam with a score of at least 80 percent.

Those currently certified must either fulfill continuing education requirements or pass the written exam once every three years to renew their Commodity Tester Certificate. Those seeking recertification will receive the same training and sign a verification of attendance form.

Instruction is provided by Eurofins Grain Inspection and Steve Peters, Inc.

A second identical session will be held September 6. Attendance is only required at one session to receive/renew certification.

For more information or to register, visit oaba.net/events or download the Grain Grading School postcard here.
