Credit Manager

CHS Member Cooperative in Northern Colorado

CHS Selection Services is collaborating with a very progressive member cooperative in Northern Colorado to help find a Credit Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a key financial position that will be responsible for the entire accounts receivable function of the organization.

Overview:

The Credit Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the credit function and staff in a fully divisionally-integrated model, including standard operating procedures, their accountability and unique credit and business-impacting decisions.

This position will be fully integrated with all product divisions and shared services regarding credit underwriting, monitoring extension of credit, communicating with the customer base, installation of systems that are best in class, and collecting delinquent accounts.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Implementation of policy and SOP’s related to credit limits
  • Underwriting guidelines for credit limits
  • Credit Limits installed for all active customers
  • Education delivered to employees and customer base regarding credit limits
  • Installation and implementation of a (CRM) system
  • Convert 100% of credit files and recordkeeping to electronic storage
  • Comprehensive review and update of the company’s credit policy, SOP’s, written communications to customers, including the establishment of underwriting guidelines and credit risk reporting, and a legal review of key documents
  • Recommends and promulgates corporate-wide Credit Policy including: the establishment of standards for credit granting, development of criteria for credit limits, special terms, subject to review and approval
  • Develop a reporting system to assess credit risk in tandem with the senior leadership team
  • Administers and oversees crop input financing programs in collaboration with product division teams
  • Constructs special arrangements and drafts promissory notes, security agreements, UCC filings, and other appropriate documents to assist in mitigating credit risk(s)
  • Assists with establishing and maintaining the annual budget for the credit department

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of progressive management experience
  • Accredited credit certification
  • Formal education or extensive experience with Ag credit and sales
  • Experience with AGRIS and Prophix
  • Ability to compile and analyze credit and financial reports
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements (Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and income tax returns)
  • Ability to multitask
