Senior Commodity and Grain Merchandiser
CHS Member Cooperative in North Central Illinois
CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a member cooperative in North Central Illinois near Freeport to hire a Senior Commodity and Grain Merchandiser at a growing facility. Applicants should have outstanding customer service skills, have prior experience in feed and grain merchandising as well as experience in logistics management.
Position Overview:
The Senior Commodity and Grain Merchandiser is required to oversee and coordinate the purchase, storage, handling, and marketing of all grain transactions for the department’s trade area in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
- Supervision, safety and maintenance, recordkeeping, merchandising, grain origination profitability and sales
- Responsible for truck/rail transportation and logistics from origin to destination
- Accurately maintain records, including a consolidated daily position record and grain related records as well as developing and maintaining a working knowledge of grain industry requirements
- Will be responsible for accounts receivable of feed commodity accounts and will uphold and enforce the cooperative’s credit policy
- Prospect for new customers and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
- Develop and implement programs and merchandising tools to establish the cooperative as customers preferred choice.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grain marketing, origination and/or merchandising
- Ability to work with computers and marketing software
- Knowledge of agriculture and cooperatives
- Possess excellent communication and sales skills
