Agronomy Division Sales Manager
CHS Member Cooperative in Northcentral Illinois
CHS Aligned Solutions is providing Selection Services for a local member cooperative to hire for an Agronomy Division Sales Manager in Northcentral Illinois (In the Freeport, IL area). This position is a senior level role and will report directly to the General Manager.
Due to an upcoming retirement and healthy company growth, the Agronomy Division Sales Manager’s primary responsibility is to mentor, train and coach a talented field sales team. This position will include training, developing sales programs, setting expectations, providing necessary resources to meet expectations of customers and aid them with outstanding customer service.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Provide effective coaching and leadership to the Agronomy Division where field sales personnel can achieve maximized potential in sales and customer service.
- Serve as a financial adviser of the Agronomy division by reviewing P&L and oversee purchasing of agronomy products. Some Risk Management will be required where a hedging background is helpful.
- Work with field sales personnel to foster relationships with both current customers and prospects within the cooperative’s trade area.
- Develop, implement and execute sales growth in crop protection, seed, fertilizer and precision agricultural marketing programs.
- Coordinate effectively with vendors/suppliers to maintain current and correct programs and pricing.
- Travel with sales personnel, providing coaching, feedback and professional development.
- Plan and direct staffing, training and performance commitments and evaluations to develop and control sales functions.
- Listens to, leverages, and promotes diverse ideas, perspectives, and contributions throughout the region and the company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture with a preference in Sales Management training.
- 10+ year’s agricultural experience- including agronomy sales, operations and management.
- Must have excellent communication skills with a personality to mentor and foster relationships.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
