Application Deadline: 10/31/18; Sessions: 1/8-1/10/19 & 2/19-2/21/19

Columbus & Sidney, Ohio

Launch Oaba Logo 01Did you know that more than half of our workforce in agribusiness will retire in the next 10-15 years?

That means top-level leadership will also retire, resulting in a void of leadership talent. The Ohio AgriBusiness Association has recognized this challenge and will again offer a robust leadership development training program – Leaders Achieving Unexpected New Career Heights, or LAUNCH – to help fill the void, and ultimately to help ensure a bright future for Ohio’s agribusinesses.

OABA will select no more than 25 aspiring leaders to participate in the 2019 LAUNCH class. Participants who are selected through the application process are expected to fully attend the two three-day sessions on the following dates:

Current Leadership:
If you have a rising star in your organization who would benefit from a robust leadership training opportunity, sponsor their application by October 31, 2018.

Ambitious, Emerging Leaders:
Talk with your supervisor and apply by October 31, 2018 to be considered for this year’s class.

What are past participants saying about LAUNCH?

"Best professional course I have ever taken." David Fierbaugh, OhiGro, Inc., '17 LAUNCH class

"LAUNCH is a great way to invest in your employees and let them know you feel they are worth it. LAUNCH lets your employees explore their talents and help them worn on areas they might not have much experience in." Brian Moff, Agland Co-op, '16 LAUNCH class

"This program is extremely beneficial to both current and future leaders in the ag industry.  Presenters and workshop content is very up-to-date and helpful in today’s landscape.  There are already skills and tools that I am using in the workplace." - Bailey Elchinger, INTL FCStone Inc., '15 LAUNCH class

“The LAUNCH program provides a valuable venue for developing the young leaders of agribusiness in Ohio. During LAUNCH, I learned with colleagues from all over the state whose careers in agriculture had a different focus. The professional growth and networking accomplished through LAUNCH will yield benefits for our industry for many years to come.” - Scott Crowder, Central Ohio Farmers Co-op, '13 LAUNCH class

Curriculum:

The program topics and skills practiced include: personal insight; executive leadership skills and decision making; communication and presentation skills; global issues in agriculture; change management and employee engagement principles; regional trends in agribusiness; critical thinking; goal setting and organizational skills; state and local government; and a capstone project.
